Breda Cimimontubi - Sesto San Giovanni PDF Print E-mail

The Breda-Cimimontubi SMS cluster was the first of two productive clusters created through the Planning Agreement for the Reindustrialization of the Sesto San Giovanni area. The cluster, that has 25 small and medium size enterprises was built on part of the redundant Breda-Cimimontubi area of Sesto San Giovanni. Situated between via Carducci and via Milanese it has a surface area of 12,900 square metres and is subdivided into lots of from 200 to 1,000 square metres.

The enterprises were selected through a public competition in 1998 and began occupying the new spaces in 2002. The construction of the cluster was managed by the enterprises themselves through the creation of the ex-Breda-Cimimontubi Productive Cluster Cooperative.

The Agency supported the cooperative during all of its operational phases and it coordinated all of the financing tools for the creation of the district, (like the Regional Law 30 of 1994 and the contribution given by the Labour Ministry as part of its Development Funds Program, Law 236 of 1993).

The Breda-Cimimontubi SME cluster supplied the 25 enterprises not only with laboratories and spaces planned for their specific needs
but also with interesting perspectives for their development; the latter is shown by the employment increase registered and the investments made. During the initial moving phase, the enterprises employed 157 people, of which 51 were recently hired.

The total investment involved in the buying of the area, its planning, and construction was 10.5 million Euros; investments for the equipping of the buildings is not included in this figure.
