Bresso Campo Volo Productive Cluster was created thanks to the contribution given by the Labour Ministry as part of its Development Funds Program, Law 236 of 1993); because of this Fund many different initiatives for the reindustrialisation of the municipalities of Bresso, Cinisello Balsamo, Cologno Monese and Sesto San Giovanni have been promoted

The new cluster which has 13 small companies belonging to different sectors was constructed in a redundant area of 5,234 square metres subdivided into lots of 260 to 520 square metres along via Galileo Galilei.

Enterprises were selected through a public competition on the basis of five criteria: the relation between the new jobs/area covered, the activity's environmental compatibility, innovative character, business reliability and experience, origin (enterprises that had their headquarters in areas that were going through revision in the General Urban Plan or designated for residential or other uses).

Once they were set up in the cluster, the selected enterprises doubled their sizes; from 56 employees the figure is foreseen to go to 114. Part of the newly hired are long-term unemployed. The selected enterprises formed the Co-operative of the Bresso Campo Volo Productive Cluster with the aim of buying the lots. Milano Metropoli did the bureaucratic, administrative, and construction planning.
