The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is, without doubt, one of the key events on Milan’s trade show calendar. Over the years the furniture show has become the undisputed benchmark in the sector. One ingredient of this success lies in the quality of the manufacturers taking part: they present a broad range of goods, from the most innovative design items to the best reproductions of period styles, all resulting from the industrial capabilities of the world’s leading manufacturers, the most creative designers and the most highly skilled craftsmen. The furniture show also offers a unique chance for experts to get together and exchange ideas and for creative young designers and entrepreneurs to meet and talk business.

A traditional “side show” to the furniture fair is FuoriSalone, a lively bill of events that animates the whole city outside the confines of the exhibition during the Salone del Mobile week. The line that divides the so-called In and Off Salone events has become so fine that there it no longer makes sense to talking about the Salone del Mobile, but rather about the Settimana del Design, or Design Week.
