The Shanghai step of the exhibit MILANOMADEINDESIGN has closed in the 27th November after have collected a great interest between the public opinion, the media and especially the Chinese visitors. During the 17 days of opening, over 4,000 people have visited the exhibition at Duolun Museum of Modern Art. Designers, architects, students but also simple curious people have admired the style and the functionality of the 177 objects presented.

The excellent result obtained at Shanghai, city which will host the 2010’s Expo, has the taste of an important confirmation for Milan, candidate city for the Expo 2015. Just the new section of the exhibit, dedicated to the Food Design and created as a reference to the theme of the Expo 2015 “Feeding the planet. Energy for life”, was one of the most appreciated. Through an aimed meeting, all those concerned have met some Italian experts of this sector, and understood the importance of the designing and the distribution of the food products. For example the coffeepot La Conica by Alessi or Mukka Express by Bialetti, the glasses Inbilico and Snello by Danese, the sets table by Fratelli Guzzini, all objects become “cult” for Italian people.

The data about the web site www.milanomadeindesign.com, which has a special section in Chinese language, are at least significant: during the opening of the exhibition in Shanghai, the site was visited 118,128 times.

MILANOMADEINDESIGN is a traveling exhibit promoted by the Province of Milan, the Milan Chamber of Commerce, and the Municipality of Milan, in collaboration with the Region of Lombardy and La Triennale di Milano; with the patronage of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development.
From 2006 MILANOMADEINDESIGN took place in New York, Toronto, Tokyo and Beijing.
