Five thematic groups have recently been started, to work all along 2012 to organize exchange forum, study visits and the activation of web and multimedia tools; they will work together with the goal to create transnational meta-districts in the sectors Agribusiness, Energy & Environment, Tourism, ICT and Life Science.
This path involves enterprises, clusters managers and development agencies from 10 EU regions and has been started in the project Clusters Cord. Financed by the EU programme Central Europe, this project has the goal of improving management, innovation and internationalization of clusters and involves eigth EU countries: Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The participants to the thematic workgroups met and confronted each other for the first time last October on the 25th in Sesto San Giovanni - Milan, in the occasion of the first International Benchmarking Conference of the project Clusters Cord, organized by the Italian partner Milano Metropoli Development Agency. 120 EU enterprises, cluster managers and development agents took part at the event and, apart from deepening their knowledge of management models, strategies and policy to support regional and transnational clusters development, they started setting up thematic groups.
Milano Metropoli development agency directs the networking activity between the different EU partners and, with the support of the Parco Tecnologico Padano, coordinates in particular the job of the working group devoted to Agribusiness.
During the next months the coordinators of the five thematic groups will prepare a strategic plan for every sector, with the definition of actions to put in place to create five transnational "meta-cluster".
