To promote the social economy, Milano Metropoli Development Agency works in close cooperation with CRIS - the Resource Centre for Social Enterprise - set up in 1998 by the Agency, the European Initiative Centre and the Lavorint Consortium of Social Enterprise CS&L, with a major contribution from the Cinisello Balsamo Town Council and from the Province of Milan.

CRIS promotes local development projects with particular attention to issues such as employment, social inclusion and participation, with respect for citizens' rights. It focuses mainly on:

• providing information, advice and training to support new social enterprises and to consolidate existing ones;
• developing integrated projects in support of non-profit organizations for the management of social inclusion processes;
• promoting the local community and supporting social enterprises via a wide network of territorial relations.
